Joan Key is a British painter, writer and curator. Her work explores abstraction, language and perception. She has written widely on modern and contemporary art, for exhibition catalogues and for journals including Third Text, Art Monthly, and the Journal of Contemporary Painting, where her essay ‘Abstraction as Experience’ was first published.
